Moderation and Approval Policy

The Content Moderation and Approval Policy (CMAP) ensures that all content published under the name of Agharkar Research Institute meets high standards of accuracy, integrity, relevance, and professionalism. This policy applies to content submitted for publication on the Institute’s official platforms including the website, digital repositories, newsletters, and social media channels.

1. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to:

  • Maintain academic and editorial quality

  • Ensure compliance with institutional values and legal requirements

  • Prevent the dissemination of inaccurate, inappropriate, or unauthorized content

  • Establish a clear and transparent content moderation workflow

2. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • Research articles, summaries, reports, and briefs

  • Blog posts, editorials, and opinion pieces

  • News updates and press releases

  • Event announcements and recordings

  • Contributions from faculty, researchers, staff, students, and collaborators

3. Submission and Moderation Workflow

All content intended for public dissemination must follow the below process:

a. Submission

  • Content must be submitted to the Content Review Team via [email/upload portal] with a clear title, description, and relevant attachments.

  • Submissions must include:

    • Author(s) and affiliation

    • Intended publication channel(s)

    • Any associated images, links, or data files

    • Any third-party content with permission or citation

  • b. Initial Screening

    The designated content coordinator or editor will check for:

    • Completeness of submission

    • Compliance with formatting guidelines

    • Relevance to the Institute’s mission

  • c. Editorial Review

    The Editorial or Communications Team will review for:

    • Clarity and coherence of language

    • Alignment with academic tone and institutional values

    • Sensitivity to cultural, ethical, and legal considerations

    • Factual accuracy and source validation

  • d. Approval

    Final approval is given by:

    • Departmental head / Research supervisor for academic content

    • Communications Office for media and outreach content

    • Legal/Compliance Team if legal, ethical, or copyright concerns are flagged

4. Rejection or Revision
Content may be rejected or returned for revision if it:

  • Contains factual inaccuracies or unverifiable claims

  • Violates copyright, licensing, or third-party rights

  • Is promotional, defamatory, discriminatory, or offensive

  • Lacks academic merit or institutional relevance

  • Includes sensitive, confidential, or unpublished research data

5. Version Control and Updates

  • Once published, content may be updated to correct factual errors or reflect new developments.

  • Major edits or changes post-publication will undergo re-approval.

  • Archived versions may be maintained for reference or transparency where required.
